iLovePDF is an international company that offers online services for the edition of PDF files and images through its associated brand, iLoveIMG.
As a result of a commercial mission in Spain, Crombie initiated a close relationship with iLovePDF. Before meeting our team, they were wary of the nearshore outsourcing model, but after receiving recommendations and noticing we share the same business values, they chose us to boost their platform.
iLovePDF needed to update, clean, and enhance the plugins of their WordPress platform given there were incompatibilities among the more recent versions of the CMS, the implementation capacity of the plugin, and its usage.
In addition, the functional plugins were out-of-sync with the repository and had difficulties in their syntactic structure concerning the security protocols and the standard functioning of WordPress.
In the first phase of the project, we put together a team made up of a WordPress and Zapier specialized developer, a Project Manager, and a Business Analyst. This collaboration was supported by solid communication which included daily dynamic reports and biweekly meetings to adjust the initial backlog.

During the process, our professionals used multiple technologies such as PHP, WordPress, GitHub, NpM, Code Sniffer, and Php Stan.
After three months of work, we were able to update iLovePDF and iLoveIMG’s WordPress plugin, providing a safer platform, and improving the user experience. This update enabled the client to increase their download rate of WordPress plugins by 500%.
In the second phase, Crombie integrated iLovePDF into Zapier, thus automating workflows and adding new features. Now, the platform not only compresses files but also divides, merges, adds watermarks, and converts documents to images and vice versa, among multiple features. This enabled tasks to speed up and time optimization.
Crombie made it possible for iLovePDF to position itself as a global market leader, exponentially increasing its user outreach. Our team’s accuracy and working flexibility strengthened the collaboration and helped us earn their trust to carry out their future projects and challenges.
