CASE STUDY
Ojitos Rojos is an Argentinian company that commercializes cannabis articles. With several years in the business and a constituted and working website, Ojitos Rojos sought to incorporate new and friendlier selling experiences from the web and channels such as WhatsApp and Instagram.
Despite having a buying process with few steps, the original platform brought dissatisfaction to the end user due to the complexity of the process and the need for personalized support to finish it. Built with Laravel+Blade, its infrastructure Unix required daily technical support, which resulted in long and complex evolving cycles.
In addition, the platform lacked a satisfactory mobile experience and didn’t meet friendly UX/UI standards. Business rules inhibited each other, impractical back-office visualizations, and several areas for improvement, leading to a sub-optimal user experience. All this brought mistakes and misunderstandings that had to be mended through manual processes.
The project managed with Scrum methodology, was divided into two key phases.
An autonomous shopping model was established, administrative management was improved, and self-extracting reports were provided. Besides, to guarantee fault tolerance, the server configuration was improved.
The team was made up of designers, analysts, a project manager, a fullstack developer, two front-end developers, and a tech lead.

Even though the platform is constantly evolving and improvements are being made, it answers efficiently to new needs that may arise from regular checkups.
The initial goal ─having a fully functional platform for Expo Cannabis 2023─ was achieved without any inconvenience.
Currently, the platform offers an enjoyable experience on both desktop and mobile. And the buying process is autonomous enough so the buyer doesn’t depend completely on the administrator to finish the purchase.
