Fulter is an international company that provides services of transportation, import and export logistics, customs brokerage, and storage of cargoes. Its main focus is traffic throughout Latam, North America-South America, and Europe-South America.
Fulter needs to present its clients with real-time information about the location of their shipping and the different stages generated during the import and export process.
For this reason, the challenge consisted of the creation of an app and website that gathers information on the shipment contracted to Fulter, and the external shipments their clients may have.
For the mobile app, both the Android and iOS versions, the technology used was React Native, whereas the website was built with Next.js, and Node.js and Express for the backend.
Agile Methodologies
Scrum provided a flexible and adaptive framework, where the development team was able to respond effectively to requested changes and project challenges, with a gradual delivery.
Effective Communication
Open and transparent communication was promoted both within the team and with the client, understanding the business needs and the used API so that all members were aligned with the project’s goals.
Multidisciplinary Team
The development team included multidisciplinary roles such as a technical leader, a business analyst, a designer, three full-stack developers, and a QA specialist.
Thanks to the cooperation with Crombie, Fulter nowadays has a unique worldwide platform that allows users to track all their shipments, thus consolidating it as a leading company in the transportation and logistics industry.
The app provides real-time information about the stages of the import and export processes and allows the clients to globally track the location of their shipments.
The platform also centralizes all the documents related to the shipments, which leads to faster turnaround times and cuts down the need for intermediaries in the management. Previously, the users weren’t able to track the location of the shipments nor access the documentation on their own, which required ongoing consultations with Fulter. Now, the app enables the clients to download the needed documentation and receive notifications in case of imponderables, which improves the client experience and facilitates the processes of shipment management.
Even though the quantitative impact hasn’t been measured yet, the platform has made Fulter a leading company in the industry and has enabled it the possibility to expand into new markets and clients in the future.
